I’ve had a lot of enquiries about who is going to be featured in the documentary so, I best introduce you to a few of them! As many of you know, I deliberately included a range of people affected by the condition, as well as researchers, doctors, health professionals and alternative therapists to get an all round picture.. *When dieting with fibromyalgia you have to be careful, too much of a calories deficit is going to cause a flare up, and to many calories is going to make things worse.
Many people with fibro try to lose weight by dramatically, cutting the amount of calories they eat. This only makes things worse. If you’re fatigued already and you’re not getting enough nutrients, the body is going to have an even harder time recovering than it already does.
A healthy weight loss goal for some one with fibro is 1-2lb per week; absolutely no more.
If you suffer really badly from fatigue I would probably go with 1lb loss per week. By consistently losing a small amount of weight we are going to avoid feeling lethargic and even worse than we already do, by still getting our nutrients but having a slight calorie deficit that allows us to lose the weight.
There is only one way to lose weight…the same way you put it on…..slowly!

Those of you who know me are aware that I have been in talks with FMAUK for a while about getting my unique rehabilitation programme onto DVD format to help people worldwide. There’s a Board Meeting tomorrow (11th September) so fingers crossed the contract will be fully agreed, signed off, and we can get a start date for filming! This is a very exciting time for myself as well as the chronic pain community as this has potential to help so many people. This two disc DVD will feature a one of a kind documentary following my own and sufferers journeys with fibromyalgia and chronic pain; thus raising more awareness and helping to bring these conditions into the light. My hopes is that this increased awareness will support charities, groups and individuals more with their individual lives and ensure better support in the future.
The documentary will also be following Cheryl’s story as we move out of the house and into the hydrotherapy pool, the charity night has been set and all acts have confirmed so I am extremely happy that I will be able to get this on the DVD, Alongside the documentary, the second disc will feature my programme so you can follow it at home and build your own, individual rehabilitation routine.
Off the back of this, I am looking for people who would be willing to share their own stories of chronic pain via Skype for the DVD and their issues, obstacles, support and positives they’ve had. Ideally I’d like to hear from people in Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and within Europe as all of my Skype clients are from the USA. I feel like the more coverage and input we can get worldwide, the better the awareness levels and the more likely it is that people will listen more.
I’ve had a lot of emails lately asking if there will be any more road shows this year. …
